diet go down the hole.
done with the diet. it did jump start the weight loss. I've been working out consistently now for about two months. i'm still not seeing the weight fall off, but it's a slow process. :) i do, however, feel really good about working out. not because it makes me feel better, but b/c i know it makes my dh happy. i'm a people pleaser i guess. :D

three weeks of
this candida diet...and i'm tired of it! it's no fun at all. i'm miserable...but i feel less foggy. :) i miss real food, the kind that makes one feel full. last night we ate tomato sauce for the first time in weeks....i missed tomatoes! i made a mexican casseole of sorts...it was delish!
after that day that baby boy's momma picked him up early, he's done so well. he's such a happy baby! needs to be entertained a bit...much like cm and ar were as babies. c-g, she's perfectly content to play alone...i love that!

seems like i'm getting in a post or two a month.
I'm tired. I'm feeling better than I've felt in quite a while though. I've been on the candida diet, and though miserable, it does help wiht the forgetfullness i've been experiencing since january of this year! i enjoy cooking too much to enjoy this diet, but it's not a diet to stay on forever anyway.
I tried a new type of flour this morning in the biscuits. Pelt flour....makes for incredibly hardy biscuits. they were yummy./ :D who knew? apparently white and wheat flour aren't good for the candida diet, but the pelt flour is less processed, and alright for this diet...my dh and i were so glad to be able to eat biscuits and gravy that we drooled this morning i believe!
I've been taking care of my friend's son now for two months. hard to believe! He's a precious baby, but today he wanted none of nanny...he wanted mommy. so she took the rest of the day off to care for him herself. I think they were both relieved to tell the truth. He was happy as soon as she took him...and she looked relieved as well. I know she must ache when she leaves him here everyday...so a day off will do them both well i believe.
I praise God for everyday that i am blessed with the chance to help her with her boy....but i praise God more that she WANTS to be with him.

Busy Week!
This week has been super busy. Of course, Monday was Labor day...Tuesday was AJ's birthday and Wednesday was our chiropractor appt. Thursday was my birthday, and tonight is the Homeschool associations back to school party. tomorrow my dh is taking me shopping for my birthday...and then the next week begins. The good news is that i think next week will be slower. :)
AJ had a good bday...she got a sewing kit. Last night i sat down and started teaching her how to sew her little kit that I got for her. once she gets it, there'll be no stopping her! She's such a precious joy she is!
I had a good bday too. surprise visits from a friend, ecards from online friends, birthday wishes from my mom, dad, and younger sister...and flowers and dinner (and a card) from my hubby. a great birthday compared to last year. :)
it's been a little over a year since hurricane katrina. things around here are still a mess, though not nearly as much a disaster as this time last year!

i'm back...
and had a wonderful time. :) until, of course, the ride home...so i'm an hour away from home, and need gas. i go into this little town for gas, and there are these rail tracks...we bounced so hard over them that i busted my transmission fluid pan! we had to get my dh to come pick us up, and have a tow truck come to tow my van home...oh man, not a fun check to write there!
we're fine, and the part will be in on thursday he thinks. so great vacation...you know coming home is always the worst part of vacation anyway. :D

busy life, busy me!
i enjoy my busy life...you might laugh by the end of this, but it's true, i enjoy it!
I have four little girls...the oldest is almost 6, youngest will be 7 months on the 31st of august! it's needless to say that i'm busy...but we offered to keep a friends son...he's 10 wks younger than our youngest. I'm a nanny. :) it's interesting....this little boy is so easy to get along with. He just sorta fell right into our routine, making easy on nanny, and she's grateful believe me! the babies like to eat together....my big girls love to feed them, so it works out.
of course, having 5 children all day means i have to get better organized! i've been working on it for a week, and it's getting better...sorta. i do have a meal menu for the week now, that helps! if i can get my cleaning on schedule, i'll be doing great. :)
my three big girls share a bedroom. i have two twin beds in there....they love sharing sleeping space with each other. i think today is the day to teach my 5 yo dd how to change her sheets...she's big enough i hope! i think on our new schedule, monday will be sheet changing day.
oh so much going on...and top it off with homeschooling. we'll start school after labor day...my big girls are excited! I am a little excited too to be honest! I'll have a first grader this year, should be interesting.
well, time to finish up breakfast and clear away the dishes...so much work, so many great helpers! i enjoy my busy life....hey, stop that laughing, i really enjoy it!

Not too much to say...
far too busy. we've had the awful stomach bug that's been going around lately. first, the four year old got it, then, dh, 2 yo dd, and i got it all in the same night....the 5 yo dd hasn't had it, nor has baby bye...thank you Lord!
I'm not much of a writer, but understand this...you DON'T WANT THIS BUG! it was horrible!

haven't posted in a while...
mainly b/c i had emergency surgery in the beginning of June! had both my appendix and my gall bladder taken out all at one time. I was bad off, and didn't know it!
anyway, my mother, sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law were all here for us, helping with the children, cooking and cleaning, and being dawlin lil lifesavers in general. i'm not sure how we'd have managed without any of them. my mom and sister came to keep the girls while i was in the hospital, and to care for me at home when i came home. then, after a couple of days, my in laws came up to stay with us so mom and sister could go back home. then mom came back for a couple days, and took the three big girls back home with her for almost a week. they are all life savers!
next week we have our SCA event (www.sca.org or www.gleannabhann.org). i think i'll be thankful when it's all over. it's a lot of work, but i hope it'll be worth it!

What a month!
May is a long month around our house...it starts at Mother's day, then dh's birthday, then dd #3's birthday, then our anniversary, then my parent's anniversary, then my dad's birthday...all in two weeks! It's been a long month.
Our little tooterbug (dd#3) is now speaking in sentences. She is a very independant two year old! She loves to climb in and out of our van all by herself. "i git it" she says. :) It never ceases to amaze me how quickly time flies. I once heard it said that the days creep but the years zoom...nothing has ever been more true I believe!

Amazing.
So, I now have a two year old. Her birthday was yesterday. She wanted to eat pizza for her birthday dinner, so we took her to the new pizza buffet in town. I totally enjoyed watching her play games, eat her fill, and love her two year old life. Makes me miss her twin more than I imagined it would.

a big deal for me!
this may not seem big to many, but it's a huge deal to me. My oldest daughter is finished with kindergarten. I can hardly believe it. When i started homeschooling her, i didn't think i could do it. i was a typical new homeschooling mom, nervous to the core. now, she's done...and she's come so far from where we started! It hardly seems possible that my daughter is going to be a first grader! Just yesterday, she was this tiny, helpless little infant, needing me for everything. Now, she's growing up so quickly! She's an independant, well-adjusted 5.5 year old. She can even fix cold cereal for herself and her sisters! I'm sure time will continue to fly, and she'll be graduating high school tomorrow! Goodness, where did the time go?

So I'm joining the blog world!
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not much of a writer or journal keeper...but with family and friends so far away, this might be a good idea!
As a sahm to four daughters, we've got a lively household. At any moment, it will be time to eat, then start chores...and today my oldest daughter finished kindergaten! I can't believe that I've got a homeschool grad already...:)
