Blessings

at this time of year, we hear all out keeping the Christ in Christmas, or how Jesus is the "reason for the season". so...why not all year?

anyway, in the spirit, today, after hanging lights in my doorway and windows, I did a mom thing that i didn't think about until now. i was surrounded, of course, by excited little girls who love twinkling lights...and the phone was ringing and i was trying to get to the stove...so i side stepped one little girl whilst grabbing another on the head as so not to run over her...all while answering the phone, and dictating what was next to another child, and reminding yet aNOTHER child to finish her schoolwork. in that moment, it occured to me....what blessings. so often it's easy to see the tired mom moments, or the why me moments, or the "dear Lord i didn't sign up for single parenting" moments in my life. yet, those moments that are sweet and fleeting, where God gently reminds me...seems so obvious, so poignant, and so few and far between....some days. today, God lets me know my blessings abound, so much more than I could have ever imagined...and even more than i deserve.

I certainly don't deserve these beautiful daughters, or a thoughtful hubby willing to work so far away from the family he longs to be with....or this wonderful house or a new van which is coming soon! Praise God from whom all blessings flow...in this season and then next!

May God bless the end of your year....and the coming year as well! Happy holidays ya'll!

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!

This year, as always, I'm reminded of the blessings of the Lord on my life...so many...and so little room to tell of them all.

I've got a wonderful hubby, whom I love and tend to with great care...and look upon with great admiration.

I've got five amazing daughters, each with their own personalities and thoughts...and each with their own little minds forever asking mommy questions that make her think!

AJ, my biggest baby, is an amazing daughter...and an amazing big sister. She's good at anything she tries....she loves holding her baby sister, and can't wait for a few more years to pass when she can babysit!

AR is my second baby. She's my lil momma...she loves to care for her little sisters, and even her big sister or mom when we're sick! She likes to cook and loves to help clean. She's often seen reading to her three year old sister...

CM is my middle girl. She's all heart...and all spunk. This is an accurate pic of her...b/c she has two speeds....awake and sleeping! she's got two volumes too...loud, or asleep!

C-G is my three year old bundle of joy. She desperately wants to be as big as her sisters...and really wants her little sister to be big enough to play with her!

Miss V is our newest addition. She's learning new things every day...like how to make the bouncy seat toy sing, or how to smile....and laugh. she can roll over, she can grab things, and she's trying hard to sit up...all at eight weeks old! She tips the scales now at 16 pounds (last week) and she's loving every minute of her little happy life!

I'm grateful for this wonderful home God has provided for us...

There is so much...soooo much that I am thankful for....one just can't imagine!

another update...

hey all. i'm still around...i promise! life with a new baby is always such an adjustment! so, i'm feeling all back to normal...or a new version of normal anyway...mastitis seems to be gone...and the uti is gone, then back thanks to antibiotics. lol. i'll work on it when i'm done with the meds...it's nothing unusual for me...thanks to an allergic reaction to disposable feminine products that must be used after having a baby...well life is interesting!

so anyway...when i get back home, i'll post some more pics of the children...so cute! actually, scratch that...i have the five pics here to show ya!!!

so, i bought the girls some new dress up clothes...so here are some pics to share!

this is AJ, all "cleopatraed" up!

This is AR, my little China doll.

And my supergirl CM!

my cheerleader. makes me wanna say "save the cheerleader save the world!"

and this is Miss V, all dressed up like a baby...she pulls it off well right?

so there they are all cute and stuff. and as a lovely treat, here's a pic of me with miss v so you know i'm real. :)

this is us at the fair...she kept me warm!

an update...

just so you don't think i've fallen off the face of the earth! I have been sick! very sick! last week i ended up in the ER with a crazy high fever, the chills and sweats, and a headache that wouldn't stop. i'd taken tylenol to bring down the fever, but it didn't help...when i could no longer walk, a friend came over with her daughter...the daughter to watch the girls, and the friend to take me to the ER. Diagnosis...massive mastitis with a roaring case of a UTI. he said the two combined made me one sick mommy! massive amounts of antibiotics later, and i'm finally feeling almost normal. still sleep deprived, but normalish.

so now you know why i haven't kept up with blogging over the past two weeks...too sick. we're playing catch up with school work this week...and daddy is coming home early. so today will be very busy...but perhaps i can get back here later to post pics of the new dress up clothes i bought for the girls this week...they are so cute!

a 10 things post

A country mom over at her blog posted an honest 10 things list...thought i'd do the same. might take a while, but i'm gonna try!

1. We did not set out to have a large-ish family. In fact, we didn't want children at all when we got married.

2. When i was a child, I wanted to have a set of identical twin boys.

3. I've had a set of identical twins...girls.

4. I lost my wedding band after the birth of my first daughter.

5. My husband bought me a new band after the birth of my second daughter.

6. I've lost a total of 34.5 pounds in less than two years.

7. I've been saved now for 8 years.

8. I'm new to blogging...and love it!

9. Though I try, I just can't figure out how to edit my HTML on my blog to include buttons to various friends blogs...even though i want to!

10. I'm computer illiterate. Just don't understand the things...though I'm getting better. :)

I've been saving up

for not me monday all week!

Last week was Not the first week i had all five of my girls...alone....by myself...without backup or a sanity saving daddy. i did not have a potty stop up, and while plunging it, did not splatter poo-water all over myself. nor did i choke and hold my breath while washing off that poo water...NOT me!

i did not make biscuits and sausage for supper one night because i was too lazy to cook...and the biscuits certainly did NOT come out of a can....ha!

while i was weighing my three week old, i did not weigh myself. i did not weigh 30 pounds less than i have in five years..not me. i'm slim and slender don't ya know.

and yesterday, i did not weigh myself before and after going potty just because i was curious. i was not shocked when i weighed two pounds less after going potty either...two pounds?!?

if you enjoyed my not me! monday post, stop by Mckmama's blog and check out the others who are participating!

our family closet and my organized storage

this post is specifically for my friend over at http://miscellaneousmusings-x.blogspot.com/

organization of a closet...and lots of girl clothes!

i have a space bag for each size clothing...and the sizes are written on the bags.

in the hall is the little closet, which has the attic access. i use it for storage rather than closet space.
each bag goes on the floor...and that way dh can get into the attic without too much work!

the closet:
we have this little room, that was a bedroom at one time...but is now the family closet...or the girl's closet anyway.

here you see on the far left the shelves of diapers...most of which are being washed now! in the middle is Miss V's dresser...bibs, burb cloths, clothes, jammies, and blankies all in there. on the right you see miss v's dirty clothes basket...today is her laundry day!
here you see miss v in the crib snoozing...next to the crib is the diaper pail, behind it is the baby gate. :)
here you see the other two dressers. the one on the right is for AR and C-G...the top two drawers for the bigger girl...on the right of that dresser is CM's dirty clothes basket. the dresser on the left is for AJ and CM...and the top most drawer holds hairbrushes, combs, and headbands.
here you see, from left to right, C-G's basket, then AR, then AJ in the back corner. each girl has their own laundry day...and they wash their own clothes. the two big girls help the two smaller girls..and mommy does miss v's laundry.
here you see miss v's dirty basket again, and more importantly, the shoe shelf. in theory, we don't lose shoes this way!
here you see my hanging rods...on the bottom rod is clothing for the two little girls who can dress themselves. but it's only their "good" playclothes...their church clothes go up high! not sure if you can see this, but the hangers are color coded. on the far left is white hangers...that's miss v's clothes. red for c-g, purple for cm, blue for ar, and yellow for aj.

hope this helps ya out my friend!

the new addition grows!

Oh lookie, pretties!
is there anything cuter than baby feet...or baby tushies?

peek-a-boo!
oh look, it's the mommy!
hm, this pillow...can i eat it too?
i'm too cute for words...really!
it's super baby...and her sisters! well, some of them anyway.
super baby...up up and away!
pth!
aw...what a cutie!

a long quiet week!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

this past week I've not spent the majority of the week alone with baby v...not me. after all, i have four other daughters! i also didn't eat out more than eat in this week..after all, i had plenty of food in my house, and i was all alone to eat!

i did not spend all week with the tv on for no reason...b/c i enjoyed the quiet without the four big girls around!

and today, i am certainly NOT having a child do the work she failed/failed to do while away last week...after all, my girl would do her homework without being told!

and last, but certainly NOT least, we did not spend yesterday afternoon playing instead of getting out winter clothes before daddy left...b/c that wouldn't be nearly as responsible!

Fun with dad!

today, before daddy left, instead of doing all the things that needed to be done, we played outside...even miss v went out for a lil bit...til it was too cold! words can't do the afternoon justice, so i leave you with this.
